INDRODUCTION

Our self catering cottages are semi detached composing of a Grade 11 Listed 13th century building which has been converted into 2 separate units one sleeps 2 the other sleeps 4.
We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.

PRE – ARRIVAL

  • We have a basic website.
  • Bookings / enquiries can be made via email or phone.
  • The nearest bus stop is on the main road in the centre of village which is about 10 minute walk from cottages.
  • The nearest train stations would be Castle Cary and Yeovil.
  • Taxis can be hired from street which is 3 miles away.

ARRIVAL & CAR PARKING FACILITIES

  • There is car parking for one car for each cottage.
  • The parking to 1 Chapel barn is concrete and and on a very slight slope and it is right outside of the cottage.
  • The entrance has an open porch with an outside light.
  • Stone slab floor with step up 14cm high, 8ft 4 inches in width 4ft 8inches deep.
  • With half glass entrance oak door which has either side, half glass and oak the same, the door is hung on the right.
  • Door way 83cm wide 6ft 6 inches high.
  • The parking to 2 Chapel Barn is on a slight slope and gravelled situated at the front of the cottage.
  • Small cobbled path to front steps, the entrance has 3 steps, 1st step 15cm high 45cm deep, 2nd step 26cm high 91 deep, 3rd step 25cm high 42cm deep.
  • The entrance has an outside light above the door.
  • With half glass entrance oak door with oak surround, it is hung on the right.
  • Door way 100cm wide 5ft 9 inches high.

ENTRANCE TO 1 CHAPEL BARN

KITCHEN DINER

  • The entrance leads into an open plan kitchen diner with exposed beams, one stone wall the rest are in a neutral colour.
  • Size 20ft long 8ft wide.
  • Work top height 91cm.
  • Eye level oven, door is drop down, height of lowest shelf 108cm, and can be accessed from either side.
  • Sink is 91cm high with cupboards underneath.
  • Hob is 94cm high and has solid plates.
  • Flooring is flag stones with a carpet on top.
  • Evenly lit kitchen 2 main ceiling lights.
  • Under surface fridge lowest shelf 38cm.
  • Small chest freezer with lift up lid.
  • Table with two wooden armed chairs.
  • Heat fire detector in ceiling small fire extinguisher and fire blanket on wall.
  • Under floor heating.

On from Kitchen Small Landing 83cm wide 6ft 2inches long.
Emergency lighting in place over landing and stair wells.

FIRST FLOOR LOUNGE

  • Accessed by stair case having 6 steps up, 19cm high 24cm deep with banister on both sides all in oak wood, open plan.
  • Size 10ft 5inches wide18ft 3inches long.
  • Open exposed beam work one low beam, stone wall and neutral colour on other walls.
  • Central light and standard light.
  • All furniture is moveable, small pine desk 2 seater settee and one rocker arm chair matching, occasional chairs and low coffee table, electric convector black wood burner style fire.
  • Wooden oak flooring 2 rugs on top.
  • TV provided with remote control also a DVD player.
  • Smoke detector in ceiling.
  • Radiator for central heating.

GROUND FLOOR DOUBLE BEDROOM

  • Accessed by stair case having 7 steps down, 19cm high 24cm deep with banister on both sides all in oak wood open plan.
  • Bedroom on the ground level and open plan.
  • Size 12ft 8 inches wide 12ft long.
  • Having beam work, 3 electric wall lights and 1 in centre of ceiling.
  • Walls in neutral colour.
  • With 4ft 6 antique iron double bed stead height of mattress  65cm, chest of draws, dressing table all moveable.
  • Storage area under stairs.
  • Flooring flag stoned with bedside rug.
  • 2 side lights to bed.
  • Under floor heating.

GROUND FLOOR BATHROOM

  • Accessed from double bedroom.
  • Door 57cm wide, 6ft 6inches high.
  • Small area bathroom.
  • Having full size bath, with shower head attachment, access to bath on the left.
  • Height of bath 59cm, height of toilet 44cm, height of sink 85cm.
  • Walls in a neutral colour.
  • Tiled around bath.
  • Flag stone floor with mats.
  • Under floor heating.

From bedroom, door to outside

OUTSIDE

  • Out side light above the door.
  • Door hung on the right, 90cm wide 5ft 10 inches high.
  • With a threshold 9cm high 5cm deep.
  • 1st step down 15cm high 19cm deep, 2nd large step 13cm high 90cm deep.
  • Slope up to a small patio area which has a table, iron work bench and matching chair to sit on.

ENTRANCE TO 2 CHAPEL BARN

The entrance leads into lounge.

  • There is a flat stone area threshold to 3 steps 1st step 17cm high 28cm deep, 2nd step 21cm high 31cm deep, 3rd step 21cm high into lounge.
  • Small banister on left.
  • Flag stone floor with large carpet on top.
  • Size 17ft wide 20ft long.
  • Stone walls the rest in neutral colour.
  • All furniture is moveable, 2 three seater settees matching, occasional chairs and antique furniture, low large coffee table, electric flame fire.
  • Four side lights and two ceiling lights.
  • TV provided with remote control also a DVD player.
  • Smoke detector in ceiling.
  • Under floor heating.

Lounge leads into kitchen diner

KITCHEN DINER

  • Old heavy elm door leading into kitchen diner, 97cm wide 6ft high, hung on left side.
  • Two stone walls the rest in neutral colour.
  • Oak beams.
  • Flag stone floor having three rugs on top.
  • Size 9ft 6 inches wide 16ft 4inches long.
  • Work top height 93cm.
  • Eye level Oven, door is drop down, height of lowest shelf 107cm, and can be accessed from either side.
  • Sink is 91 cm high with cupboards underneath.
  • Hob is 92cm high and has solid plates.
  • Evenly lit kitchen 2 main ceiling lights also a strip light over kitchen units.
  • Under surface fridge lowest shelf 57 cm.
  • Small chest freezer door hung on right.
  • Table with six wooden chairs.
  • Plenty of room between furniture.
  • Heat fire detector in ceiling small fire extinguisher and fire blanket on wall.
  • Under floor heating.

Back entrance leading to outside

  • Five steps up from kitchen, to double opening doors one hung on left the other on the right,  1st step, 15cm high 33cm deep, 2nd step,19cm high 31cm deep, 3rd step 17cm high 36cm deep, 4th step, 19cm high 34cm deep, 5th step threshold 8cm high 29cm wide to outside all steps are 4ft wide.
  • Banisters on both sides.
  • Area outside flat concrete.

Stairs from kitchen to first floor

STAIRS AND LANDING

Open plan stair case, stairs have fourteen steps in oak with a bend in to the right leading up to a small landing, stairs are 20cm high, 24cm deep.

DOUBLE BEDROOM

  • Door into large Double bedroom, 71cm wide, 6ft 7inches high, hung on the left.
  • Oak flooring two bed side rugs.
  • Size 18ft 6inches length, 13ft 3 inches wide.
  • Antique brass 4ft 6 bedstead height of mattress 70cm, chest of draws, dressing table, occasional chairs, all moveable.
  • Very spacious around bed on all sides.
  • TV provided with remote control.
  • Open exposed beams, centre light and two bedside lights and one standard light.
  • Stone walls and some walls in neutral colour.
  • Radiator for central heating.

Second landing

  • Two steps down 20cm high, 24cm deep on to second landing, leading to second twin bedroom and bathroom.
  • From landing you can look down into lounge on the ground floor.
  • Open exposed beams.
  • Emergency lighting in place.
  • Smoke detector high up between beams.

TWIN BEDROOM

  • Door 75cm wide 6ft 9inches high, hung on the left.
  • Oak flooring with bedside rugs.
  • Size 11ft wide, 17ft long.
  • Twin beds, first bed height of mattress 50cm high, second bed height of mattress 53cm high.
  • Centre light and bedside lights.
  • Open exposed beam work, neutral walls.
  • Fire smoke detector in ceiling.
  • Radiator for central heating.

BATHROOM

  • Door 73cm wide, 6ft 9inches high, hung on the left.
  • Shower over full size bath with glass shower screen, access to bath on the left.
  • Height of bath 60cm, height of toilet 44cm, height of basin 82cm.
  • Tiled around bath.
  • Size 4ft wide, 7ft long.
  • Walls, part stone and neutral.
  • Vinyl flooring with mats.
  • Radiator for central heating.

GARDEN

2 Chapel Barn

  • Has a small garden area with picnic table and garden bench to sit on at the entrance of 2 Chapel Barn.

LAUNDRY

  • There is a separate laundry room for both cottages to use, situated in yard above the cottages, having a standard size washing machine, which is front loading and tumble dryer.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Good mobile phone reception outside.
  • There are bins for refuge at the back of both cottages.
  • Bikes can be stored in farm buildings.
  • Both cottages are no smoking.
  • Sorry no pets as we have are own.
